After a very discouraging start to the year, I spent many trips getting skunked trying to learn the new (to me) walleye fishery right in my backyard of downtown Grand Rapids. Fishing late in to the nights and early in the mornings before class, I was having more success on the steelhead using my walleye rigs than on the walleye itself.
Finally after countless days, I was able to connect on one of my heavier walleyes to date. Even better I was able to enjoy the experience with my brother, which usually isn’t able to make it out that often during the school year. Already chomping at the bit to get back out tonight!

Nice fish-looks like a nice place to live after graduation.Although you get fish wherever you go.
