Hi all, anyone have a good, honest and reasonably priced Yammy mechanic who is nearer to Montrose than to Indiana? I need to replace my trim/tilt seals and having trouble even getting an estimate for that known proceedure without having to trailer the boat to the calumet river. Thanks!

if you can take it out check these guys out. https://five-star-marine.myshopify.com/
Reasonable if you send it in, Usually a week turn around. They will also sell you the parts needed to do it yourself.
Will assist if you have questions during rebuild.

Try Ralphs Marine on Lawrence. They worked on my Yamaha in the past. Also they are near you.

I’ve been working with Percy at Aquaman Marine since I purchased a boat (with Yamaha outboard) that was getting stored at his facility. I believe they do service at Montrose. Pleasant honest guy, very responsive.

Please let me know what you find.... I need the same service on my 225 OX66 and cannot find a tech in the western burbs that I know or am familiar with for Yammies.

Thanks all, these contacts are extremely helpful! I'm pretty sure this is an o-ring blown in the trim gear housing. I may see if 5-star can do a trade on a rebuilt since I'll have to remove mine anyway. I'll post here once this is resolved with reports back on what I find. Jim, the man is always wrong, but I think you know that.
