Just general service. A little stiff, a little grind. Maybe an upgraded drag, or two.

Contact ChiTown member named Jackpine . He might be able to help. I know he repairs ice augers, and has a reel collection second to none !

Here's another option: Corens Rod & Reel :Corens craftsmen have 40 years of helping customers choose quality fishing equipment and helping keep that equipment clean, repaired and in restored condition. Give us a call at 773 631 5202 or visit at 6001 N. Nina, Chicago, IL 60631
I've used Coren's over the past few decades.

Jackpine (Fran), if he still does, works at Lees Bait and Tackle (Elk Grove) doing trolling motor repair and he sharpens auger blades on the side also.
You can drop off reels at Lees in Elk Grove.

Dave’s Reel Service in Vernon Hills. You mail them in he does cleaning and repairs and let’s you know the price if parts are required. He ships them back for a better than new reel.

I always do my own reels.

If you are somewhat technical and careful its not impossible and there are tons of youtube videos out there. But if you have the money and not the time is is prob worth having exp. person do it. I just love tearing into them and learning how they work and also the feeling you get when it spins like a dream and you know that you did that.
