Had my first perch outting maybe a month ago, and easily got my limit. Was my first time ever cleaning/filleting a fish, but once they were fried up, they were delicious. It has me itching to get back to the Lakefront and get some more! Hit Navy Pier the first time, and am williing to try somewhere else, if they're biting elsewhere! I'm hoping to go Saturday morning as it is my only freetime available. But don't want to go if they're not biting again, as I heard people have been having a tough time lately. Thanks for any help!

As of this morning, heard they are still not biting all over and lake is still milky. May clear up enough by this weekend, but not sure i would count on it.

Looked out my window this morning over Oak Street Beach. The water needs at least one more day maybe two to clean up.

Water clarity is much better this morning. If not today the bite should get going tomorrow.

On second thought. Took a walk to navy pier. At about 9:30am maybe 5-7 anglers out. Slim pickings. Water is dirty. Don’t waste your time. 2 weeks ago there were hundreds of fishermen out. Actually catching fish. Today the handful were just getting out of the house to avoid Honey do’s.

12/9. About 9:30am 4 1/2 fisherman out. No fish that I saw. Most areas had about 1/2 inch of ice. Open water near post 9. Still muddy.

Yeah, I got out Saturday. Three guys each got a 6-7"er. Before sunrise. Almost nothing once the sun came out. Not worth it, lol.

The river is loaded with perch in the 11-12" range. Fish as close to the locks as possible.

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but is this the area you are referring to?

Do they do this on all river connections to the lake at the same time? Or is it like the salmon where they move their way north gradually?

Thinking about trying around Burns Harbor, IN area this weekend. Thanks.

MrFrost....I'm in any day, if you want to carpool.

Anyone know if the Navy Pier is frozen?
