Anyone have any experience hunting shabbona lake? I read your can do standby for claiming unused blinds. Wondering how that works out and how busy during the week. Any information is appreciated.

I've hunted the blinds at Shab a few times in the past. Weekdays are usually dead and you will have your choice of unclaimed blinds. They are pits situated in corn fields. Pull up the hunter fact sheet for site specific regulations. Depending on what blind you go in, you my have a few upset bow hunters. Many of the blinds share the same hunting areas. Just an fyi as I have done both there.
