:helloooooo So I Finally found some time away from work last week, and was able to get some kitty cats through the ice on Lake Mendota. I got all these guys on cut bait, on D.I.Y. automatic fisherman. The auto hook setting devices are crucial because they really seem to prefer stationary presentations and will spit the bait if you’re not right on top of em.

That's awesome. I've never really seen cats targeted through the ice before. I'd have to imagine those are some pretty tastee fried catfish nuggets out of that cold water.

Great post.

Tom

Awesome bro! What were the length on thoes kitties?
There use to be a spot on pistakee,a sunken boat that the flathead would stack up in, I would Target them with a stepped on/smashed roach,Sometimes they would eat it alive. But my biggest one was 41"I have pictures of almost everyone we caught because they were all big! Lasted only two years people caught on to what we were doing and they started bringing full sized muskie rods out and snagging them.thats when I stoped fishing for them.tried to report it but nobody ever came.almost came to blows a few time with the guys. I only went back a few times and they were not in there anymore. This was 15years ago. Maybe I'll try again soon.
Thank you Fletcher for posting, got me excited again to chase the kitties!!

Yo thanks fellas!!!

I’d say they’re all between 30 - 35 inches, Coldriver. I never actually measured them.
