I have some freshly cured king skain, for years I have froze my skain in sandwich bags double wrapped with as much air squeezed out. I have noticed they get freezer burned after thawed out in a few years and is less effective bait. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a better way of freezing fresh cured skain for future use. I know fresh skain is always better but you have to keep some for next year. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money. Any tips advice appreciated!

put
eggs in glass bottle (jelly)
leave a LITLLE room for air
Lite a piece of paper on fire
quickly put on top of eggs
QUICKLY close jar
Oxygen will burn off and even sometimes the top will be sucked in

Never tried that method before. Would baby food jars work?

Skein*

Use a ziplock bag and pack it in borax. They can last a few years if you do that. Also, year-old skein often works better than fresh if it has been stored properly.

That sounds like a good idea, although I'm gonna use wax paper over the eggs to catch the dripping.

I waited too long it won't pack into the jars without breaking and busting the eggs. It's still good just firmer for the hook. Any ideas?
