Launched around 7 am, not crowded at all, I think the wind scared most people away. The wind was pretty bad, straight out of the WSW. White caps everywhere with no place to hide. Great day for drift fishing. Managed one decent small mouth on black gold #7 jiggin rap. Talked with several fisherman, no one reported any action.

Water level is good, made it under the bridge safely even in the chop, in my 17ft v hull.

Water clarity: stained.

Water temps around 43-45

Marked fish in the deeper flats 15-20ft. One of these is on the southern half, way to the west side of the lake, almost to the no fishing zone. North side has a couple of these too. Could not find any drastically warmer temperatures, but the north side was slightly warmer.

It was windy for sure.

I went out with my wife for 1.5 hour this afternoon and made a few passes. First pass was a double. Caught one more the same size as the earlier double and called it a day. The wind and waves made having good sea legs a must.

I did not measure the fish but the net in the picture measures 21" across.

They did eventually hoist the yellow flag. But I assume that just means caution?

I believe the lake can be closed, if needed, due to dangerous conditions.

I was in a ranger 620. We were bobbing around pretty good with some of the big waves in the middle of the lake.. Never felt unsafe. Smaller flat bottom boat may be ok depending where you are fishing.

Play the wind and watch for wind direction / speed changes
