Hey all! Just moved to the north side about a half mile from Montrose Harbor. Experienced Walleye/bass/panfish fisherman but new to Great Lakes fishing and salmon. I joined to find a community of anglers and learn about this magnificent fishery.

Hopefully VERY soon I'll be able to do some casting and see if I can hook up with a Coho from shore. (My timing is right isn't it?)

I'm looking forward to being active here and making some friends.

Thanks guys!

Welcome aboard. You picked a good time to move that close to the Lake. Shore casting for coho is right around the corner. Squid or a nightcrawler 3 feet under a float would serve you well, and casting anything with a rattle in orange or red, along with Cleos or Castmasters will get you hooked up.

AJ walleye from last night......

Good luck and again, welcome to the site.

Welcome to the site, I am sure you will find it very useful in gathering the information you need to be successful. Now would be a good time to drill one of those J-11 in orange and add a few shot to the inside to make ready for those tasty coho when the come close to shore.

Thank you so much for the warm welcomes guys!

I went to Montrose and did a little casting last night, more to familiarize myself with it than anything else. No bites, the ice came in and chased me off around 9:30.

I really appreciate the lure mentions!!!
