We are only a few weeks away from a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear Dr Howard Tanner speak at the club's general meeting.

Friendly reminder about next weeks speaker. Plenty of time is being allotted for questions and answers during the meeting.

Little update on next weeks meeting and speaker. Howard would like this meeting to be an open forum and is expecting total participation and a lot of back and forth questions and answers. He is excited to be speaking to the best fishing club in the midwest.

Attended Salmon Unlimited meeting last night ,with guest speaker Dr Howard Tanner . Was an honor to meet Dr Tanner, and other guest speakers . Dr Tanner gave his Bio, and explained how he and others like Don Dubin of Salmon Unlimited, over 50 years ago, created a salmon fishery in the fresh water of Lake Michigan , which has become over a billion dollar industry ! This visionary of a man , bringing his dream to reality , laid the ground work for thousands of jobs, in the fishing industry, and not to mention the hundreds of restaurants, resorts, motels, and retail establishments , that all grew up around this dream, to accommodate the thousands of people that now enjoy this great sport fishing up and down the coastlines of our Great Lakes !
DR. Tanner wrote a book called "Something Spectacular " , that gives you the history and accomplishments of this man that truly gave him the nickname " The Godfather of Lake Michigan " .

Dr. Tanner , even though he has created " Something Spectacular " at 96 years old , wants to help keep the ball rolling, and get the young generation , to put down their cell phones, and I Pads, and take an interest in our conservation of our natural resources, so future generations to come , can enjoy what he and others like him, have worked so hard to build for us !
Dr. Tanner is working with a program called "Project Fish " , which is intended for the young generation to pick-up from here,
and to enjoy and protect the sport of fishing , and our natural resources ! For more info, and those of you who would like to become mentors , and help Dr. Tanner do "Something Spectacular " again , contact Mark Stephens director of Project Fish , at
ph. 517-432-2700 or steph143@msu.edu

:thanks :fisch
