Hello all

I was just wondering if anyone has been thru cal park recently and saw what the ice conditions were. I was hoping it might start break up with a little sun and some wind?

Thanks in advance

It's probably frozen all the way to the breakwall. There might be a broken up spot where barges go from Inland to the cal river.

even if it was open the satellite pictures show a lot of ice just offshore and that moves in quick and block your route back. Gonna be another 2 weeks with all this cold we are having.

Just watch out for a windshift like stormie said if the wind turns anything east get your ass back to the launch. It happened to me once and luckily a fuel barge was going from Inland to the cal river and I followed him out to a clear area and got back safe.

58 degrees with south winds to push any lingering floaters away forecasted for next Tuesday. I'll be putting the boat in for the first time of the year if that forecast holds!
